Congratulations to Mister for getting back in the show ring at the Dairyland Classic in Jefferson, WI, in the Veterans competition. At one month shy of his 11th birthday, our handsome boy took Best of Opposite Sex honors and earned his first leg in Masters Rally. Way to keep on showing, Mister!!
Mister is a substantial boy measuring 20.5 inches and weighing 62 lbs. He has a kind disposition with a working drive that can not be rivaled. True to this breed, Mister would rather be in the water than anywhere else. He does therapy work with Elementary school children twice a week. They all love him. He is the perfect blend of form and function having earned his Bronze Grand Championship (all owner handled), a National Specialty Award of Merit in 2012, a Regional Specialty Best of Breed in 2011, a Regional Specialty Award of Merit in 2010, one of the Top Twenty Portuguese Water Dogs in the country in 2010, multiple group placements and performance titles from every venue possible.

In May, 2013, Mister was in Jefferson, WI for his last show before retiring from the Conformation ring. Mister and Barb finished with a bang by taking Best Owner Handler Breed and a Group 2 Owner Handler. Now they will be busy with more Agility, Tracking and Water. Mister will be back in the show ring to have some fun in the Veteran's classes when he turns seven.
September, 2012 - Mister was at the 2012 National Specialty in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Bravo to Mister on his Award of Merit earned under Breeder/Judge Steve Dostie! Mister also was awarded his Gold Register of Merit recognizing his outstanding working ability. I am so proud of this boy!
Aug 4, 2012 - Whoo!Hoo! Mister earned is Working Water Dog title in Crooked Lake, Minnesota today. The weather was not very cooperative with wind, rain and cold temperatures, but Mister wouldn't let any of that distract him and he was very impressive! Congratulations to Mister and Barb on this wonderful achievement!
July, 2012 - After just four weekends out at Conformation shows this year, Mister is now a Bronze Grand Champion. He finished his title in great style with two back-to-back five point majors at the Paper Cities Kennel Club dog show in Wisconsin.
September 17-23, 2011. The Portuguese Water Dog National Specialty! What a wonderful week we had in Georgia. We came home with a box full of ribbons and so many wonderful memories. Read about our adventures on the

May 21 and 22, 2011. Mister and Barb traveled to OshKosh, WI, where Mister earned two more Best of Breed ribbons. Looking to the Nationals in Georgia in the fall! Time to practice Tracking and Agility now!
January 7, 8, and 9, 2011. Mister was in St Paul, MN, where he earned a two Select dog awards and a Best of Breed honor under Mr Houston Clark. A very nice way to start off our New Year, Mister. Thank you.
November 20 and 21, 2010, we were in Shakopee, MN. Mister took BOB both days for two major wins and completed his Grand Championship title requirements. On Sunday, the 21st, he won a Group 2 placement under judge Eric Liebes. What a great way to finish off a very exciting month of showing and trials for our Mister!
The weekend of November 13 and 14, Mister and his little sister, MP3, were in Hutchinson, MN, for the International Dog Show. Mister won highest points all three shows and earned his International title and a Group 2. MP3 won Puppy Group 1 in both the shows she was entered in.We were so very proud of both brother and sister.
November 6 and 7, 2010, Mister and Barb travelled to Amherst Junction, WI, to compete in the Timber Ridge Obedience Club's Rally and Obedience trial. With qualifying scores both Saturday and Sunday, Mister earned his Rally Advance title! Three tries and three qualifying scores. Way to heel, Mister!
On August 27, Mister competed at the Regional Specialty at Lake Elmo, MN. Under breeder Judge Marilyn Rimmer, Mister was recognized with Award of Merit honors. Thank you, Judge Rimmer!Time for Mister to take some time off for Agility and Obedience training and trialing!
In August, Mister won Best of Breed at Waukesha Kennel Club under JoAnn Dutton for another major win towards his Grand Championship. We're getting closer, Mister! The Coulee Kennel Club also held their annual show in August, 2010. Mister was there one day and won another Best of Breed under Mrs. Toddie Clarke.
Paper Cities Kennel Club held their All-Breed show July 24 and 25 in Rosholt, Wisconsin. Mister won Best of Breed on Saturday under Judge Jon Cole for a 3 point major towards his Grand Chamionship. On Sunday, he took Best of Opposite Sex honors.
The three day show in Jefferson, Wisconsin was the weekend of May 21-23, 2010. Mister earned more points towards his Grand Championship by winning Best of Breed all three days under Judges Lee Canalizo, Patricia Trotter and Mary Ann Alston.
May 8 and 9, 2010, Mister was in OshKosh, Wisconsin where he won Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex under Judges Judi Park and Joseph Brant .
CH Afortunado Expect The Unexpected, CD, RN, CGC, TDI "Mister", won Best of Breed and back-to back Best of Opposite Sex honors at the Packerland Kennel Club in OshKosh, Wisconsin the weekend of January 22, 23 and 24, 2010. Nice way to start the new year, Mister!
On August 14, 2009, at the Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club show in Marshfield, Wisconsin, Mister won Best of Breed and a Group 4. Our Group judge was Mrs. Dorothy Welsh. After thanking her for the group placement, Mrs. Welsh commented about Mister, "I love this breed, but I rarely give any a Group Placement because they have to be correct. And this dog is just that." Thank you, Mrs. Welsh!
The weekend of July 18 and 19, 2009, we were in Weston, Wisconsin for the Paper Cities Kennel Club show. Mister won Best of Breed both days. That makes seven Best of Breed wins for our young boy (but who's counting?).
On June 13, 2009, Mister went for his Therapy Dog International test at the Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club. He is now a certified therapy dog and will be joining CH Afortunado Aidan Curren, "Aidan" and CH Abeja Manoel Pardal Rivero, "Bandit" ( his two housemates) at the elementary school level to do the reading program with students starting in October. Congratulations Mister!

Mister went to Jefferson, Wisconsin, for a three day dog show May 1 through 3, 2009. A huge congratulations to him on his Best of Breed wins all three days. What a great weekend for all of us!
Mister is now CH Afortunado Expect the Unexpected! On April 18, 2009, Afortunado's Expect The Unexpected, "Mister" took Winners Dog and Best of Opposite Sex honors to complete his Championship under Judge Audrey Lycan. It is exciting to note that both of Mister's majors were garnered from Best of Breed wins from the classes over Specials. Hurray! Get ready for the Breed Ring, Mister!
Mister received his second major win under Virginia Lyne at the Indianhead Kennel Club show in Eau Claire Wisconsin on April 4, 2009 by winning Best of Breed over three specials. Just two points left for our boy! We couldn't be happier to see the enthusiasm and willingness to work Mister exhibits every day. Thank you to Ms. Lyne for this wonderful win.
Afortunado Expect the Unexpected, "Mister', entered in the Open Dog class, took Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed on Saturday, January 31, 2009 over two beautiful Specials for a major win at the Packerland Dog Show in Green Bay Wisconsin! Way to show, Mister! Our special thanks to Judge Mr. Houston Clark for realizing this boy's outstanding structure and easy movement.
