Water Work
The Portuguese Water Dog is by nature a working dog who loves the water, loves to retrieve and is always eager to please. The Portuguese Water Dog Club of America has developed a program of exercises to be performed at water trials that demonstrate and celebrate these instincts. Each level is described in detail in the PWDCA Water Trial Manual that can be found here:

We encourage all puppy owners to look at the videos, read the manual, and then go on out to the nearest body of water (a swimming pool is a great start!) and play with your dog!
